AMV: Let's Get Lost

This one's a bit sillier than my last! Being a Kakashi AMV, it's also sad by nature, but mostly fun. With this, I've now made AMVs with three Carly Rae Jepsen songs (from the same album, even)... I just like her music, and I think it's uniquely suited to making videos that don't take themselves too seriously.

• The shot from the first intro at 0:47 where I put on both a vignette effect AND a lens flare focused on the book... was that "tasteful"? No. Was it "good"? Also no. Still love it though.
• The death shots in the last 30 seconds or so are pretty heavy handed; on the other hand, there really is only so much screentime for Kakashi's books, and I used basically all of the good stuff, so I would've needed to fill the time somehow.
• I'll have to come back later and see if the timing in the Obito fight actually worked. I was going for something but it probably would've been a safer bet to just be more normal on the timing...

(If you've ever heard a Carly Rae Jepsen song, it would've been Call Me Maybe which was pretty big in 2012 or 2013. Honestly not my favorite of her work but it is catchy.)

“Keeping my fingers crossed that maybe we’ll take the long way home” played over him getting killed is so genuinely hilarious. Kakashi’s suicidal ideation set to Carly Rae Jepsen, amazing. The three dudes miming “let’s get lost” godddd so stupidly perfect. And the juxtaposition in that whole section with the more heroic, ideal narrative or version of him and the actuality of his trauma.. chef’s kiss.

The death shots at the end didn’t feel out of place at all to me at least. Finishing these threads with shots of their graves felt like satisfying closure, especially with the shot of him with early Shippuden Sakura and Naruto. It feels like Kakashi can move on properly now (though we know how that goes lol), and maybe it wasn’t just the porn but also the friends you made along the way Kakashi <3 but mostly the porn

Yayyy I'm glad you liked it!! My pitch for this video to my best friend was "what if kakashi/icha icha.... but also he's suicidally depressed" which is of course basically canon but the CRJ adds a little flair :D
