"Rules": Produce a one minute video edit where you focus especially on rhythmic editing. Try your hand at time remapping at least once in this video. Choose an audio track that has a clear rhythmic pattern or interesting rhythmic progressions to make your editing experience easier. Reference the wave visualization of your audio track to help guide your editing choices.

Notes:
- I try to make all my videos as rhythmic as possible (I feel like it's a must in the AMV world) so I decided to experiment with this song because it has some unusual instrumentation. And because it best evokes the mood I wanted to go for with Hinata: solemn, determined, could be either sad or angry. I feel like I normally pick really weird timings for where to cut, and I leaned into that a lot for this video and used some really short shots.
- This video probably actually fits last week's prompt better :D It's easy to do graphical matches when you're cutting back and forth between two similar fights!
- Editing like this is why I loved using anime. You can freeze frame and it looks fine. You can just mask someone's mouth to be closed so they don't talk during a shot. You can do all sorts of retiming and nobody will notice! Also on a more conceptual level, because the shots are "cleaner" than live action, I feel like you can get away with using shorter clips? That may just be me. I really like making my videos super fast and I'm always searching for ways to get away with making them faster, while still being comprehensible.
- I've always loved the effect you get when you don't show a character's eyes; I tried to do it as much as possible here except for at important moments, though in a lot of the fight shots it's unavoidable. (I considered blurring out her face but it looked awful. Though I just now thought of using a single skin color layer, masked to fit her face and with very blurred edges.... but the real problem would be tracing her face every frame. The reward isn't worth the amount of effort :D)
- I wish my musical edit was better; the transition at 0:17 works very well but the one later starting around 0:42, when the high piano comes in, is awkward. Doing better would mean I have to learn more than just crossfading though...
ALSO I just noticed a spot where I think I accidentally did something to the music very early on which makes one beat come a little too early. Now that I've heard it I can never unhear it D:No, it's in the original song! How strange! (It's the downbeat at approximately 0:05 when Pein, the orange haired guy, is skidding backwards. It comes too early.) I hadn't noticed before, but I think it adds to the uncomfortable and tense feeling of the song.

This year I'm using a video game as a source, which is sort of partway between anime and live action, I guess, since there's more Stuff than in anime but all the motion is much more clear-cut and intentional than in live action. This'll give me something to mull over.
