AMV: On the Radio

Video concept: Sasuke and Naruto are haunted by their past selves. This kind of sucks. /massive understatement
So, I saw the final Naruto and Sasuke fight earlier this year and, like any Naruto AMV maker, knew I had to make a video based on it. My initial idea was a Naruto/Sasuke video because... it's just so easy. Canon gives the material to you on a plate. Then I heard this song for the first time and switched gears to this: the most convoluted, confusing, and labor-intensive AMV that I can imagine.
It's my second video featuring ghosts, which I love even though it's incredibly tedious. Through the power of editing, you can include any character in any scene! (Within some constraints; you still have to be mindful of the angle they're shown at, how close the shot is, and how they move.) This is my version of AU fanfic, just in video format, where it's harder to convey plot :D

- I put a LOT of effort into the transitions in this video, because there's so much stuff to cram into a small amount of time. I'm especially proud of the section at the beginning including the title, because it's only about three seconds long but it very quickly goes back through three generations.
- I used pretty much every side profile there is of Sasuke/Madara/Indra, and Sasuke is always on the left side facing the right... until the end of the video, where I put him on the right facing left, which hopefully reinforces his change from "I am doomed to obey the past" to "I will fight and kill my destiny". On the other hand, the AMV is busy enough that I'll be happy if any plot comes through at all :D It's kind of more of an experimental art piece than a standard video.
- I'm not sure if this is conveyed at all, but it was my intention that any shot with a fully black background is taking place on like... the psychic plane.
- The hand shots at the very beginning are an enormous self-indulgence. I think that shot of Sasuke flexing his hand is SO funny (seriously, what is he doing) and I've been thinking of it on and off ever since I saw it the first time. (My Discord chat history shows that I have mentioned it at least four times over a time period of two years). So of course I had to include it, and then I decided to pair it with Naruto closing his hand when he has a panic attack in the snow. For continuity's sake, I then isolated both hands from their backgrounds and put them on the rock backgrounds of the Valley of the End. This really set the tone for the amount of unnecessary work I did in the rest of the video :D The final fight literally has paired shots of them with closed fists that I could have used instead.
- This was supposed to focus equally on Naruto and Sasuke. This obviously didn't happen :D Sasuke just has more Suffering shots, and also easily pairs with Indra and Madara in terms of the attacks they use, their abilities, etc. For Naruto though, it's impossible to match Hashirama because Hashirama exclusively uses mokuton, and it's hard to match Ashura because... Ashura never does anything visually appealing. Sorry Ashura. Meanwhile Indra and Madara are wielding lightning and Susanoo and fire and having cool hand to hand fights. There's no competition. And hopefully, just focusing on Sasuke's side slightly simplifies the video? It's already way too complicated.
- The two shots starting at 2:35 (Indra walking over to Sasuke, and then touching his face) are my favorite!
